The Rhododendron Festival in Bhutan is a captivating celebration, heralding the arrival of spring with a flourish of blooming flowers and verdant forests. This event, reminiscent of Japan’s famed Cherry Blossom Festival, honors the season’s awakening in Bhutan with the spectacular display of Rhododendrons.

Hosted in the picturesque Lamperi Botanical Garden, just 35 km from Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu, this festival is a highlight of Bhutan’s eco-tourism. The botanical paradise, boasting 29 of Bhutan’s 46 recorded Rhododendron species, sets the stage for this three-day extravaganza. Since its inception in 2013, the festival has been a vibrant showcase of rare blooms, promoting eco-tourism and celebrating the symbiotic relationship between local communities and their natural environment.

Now a day tsho are dry because, the lake are surrounded by waste and cow dung. If you keep this tsho need and clean, lake will help you. The older people said, tsho are one of the important scared places in chiya village . Some other villagers are come and visit our village tsho.

Bhutanese Famous Author

  Kunzang Choden  Dzongkha:   ཨམ་ཀུན་བཟང་ཆོས་སྒྲོན་གྱི་སྐོར། ; born 1952)  is a Bhutanese  writer. She is the first Bhutanese woman to write a novel in English. Choden was born in Bumthang   District. Her parents were feudal landlords. At the age of nine, her father sent her to school in India, where she learned English. She has a BA Honors in Psycholophy om Indraprastha  College    in Delhi and a BA in Sociology from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She has worked for the United Nations Developments Program in Bhutan. She and her Swiss husband currently live in Thimphu. Chador Wangmo , a teacher turned writer, has authored fifteen books which include two novels, one anthology of poetry, two chapter books and ten illustrated books for children.
